AG-D Series Buckling Pin Pressure Relief Device is directly driven by medium force at inlet. When the force increases to critical buckling value, the pin buckles and loses bearing capacity. Valve plug and valve seat separates instantaneously to realize accurate and quick pressure relief.
Under normal condition, the pressure difference P between upstream and downstream is less than the set pressure Pcr. The axial force F in the buckling pin thus is below the critical buckling value Fcr and the pin remains stable. Simultaneously, the reaction force from the buckling pin pushes the valve disk to the valve seat and builds a tight sealing of the valve.
Under abnormal condition, the pressure difference P between upstream and downstream is equal or greater than the set pressure Pcr. The axial force F in the buckling pin thus is over the critical buckling value Fcr and the pin buckles. The reaction force from the buckling pin will decrease abruptly and a sudden separation occurs between the valve disk and the valve seat, resulting in a precise and rapid pressure relief.
